Emergencies we respond to

  • Storm damage to roofs, chimneys and gable walls
  • Unstable or leaning chimney stacks
  • Fire and water damage that leaves a roof open
  • Loose masonry, parapets or render over a pavement
  • Structures flagged as dangerous by the council or an insurer

What happens next

  1. Phone call. Tell us the address and what's happened. Photos by text help.
  2. Make safe. We put up what's needed to protect people and the property, such as a scaffold to reach a damaged chimney, protection for the pavement below, or a temporary roof and sheeting to keep the weather out.
  3. Repair access. Once it's safe, the scaffold gives your roofer or builder access for the permanent repair.

Insurance claims

Emergency scaffolding is often part of a buildings insurance claim. We'll give you a written quote and photos you can send to your insurer or loss adjuster. Check your policy and speak to your insurer about what's covered.

Questions about emergency scaffolding

How fast can you get there?

We're based in Wallington, so most of Sutton, Carshalton and Croydon is a short drive. Call us and we'll give you a realistic time on the phone.

Do I need a licence for emergency scaffolding on the pavement?

A licence is still needed, but councils have procedures for urgent work. We deal with the council for you.

Will my insurance pay for emergency scaffolding?

Many buildings policies cover making a property safe after an insured event, but it depends on your policy. Check with your insurer. We can provide a quote and photos for the claim.
